Program Update: Census of Marine Life – May 2010
Filed under: Census of Marine Life,Discovery,News & Resources,Program Updates - Census of Marine Life
With only four full months left until the “Census of Marine Life 2010: A Decade of Discovery” events in London, everyone involved in the Census is hard at work on the results of their 10 years of collaborative scientific research.
The National and Regional Implementation Committees, including the U.S. National Committee, are working towards a collection in PLoS ONE that highlights the current state of knowledge of marine biodiversity on regional scales. Other products (books, journal publications and maps) also aim to synthesize the vast amount of data that has been collected about the global ocean. Many of these products will be discussed in detail at the Census Scientific Steering Committee meeting in New York City June 2-4, 2010.
