The Enlighten ’10 research cruise is currently underway on the University of Washington’s R/V Thomas G. Thomson. The primary purpose of the cruise is to lay the foundation for the installation of secondary infrastructure (nodes, junction boxes, sensors, moorings, and extension cables) on the Regional Scale Nodes (RSN) cabled ocean observatory, a network that is part of the OOI. For more information about the cruise, visit http://www.ooi.washington.edu/enlighten.
Currently, the OOI team is also preparing for the Year One Operations and Maintenance Review that is occurring from August 17-18, 2010.
