Program Update: Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative – June 2011

The deadline for submission of proposals to the Gulf Research Initiative (GRI) Request for Proposals: Short-Term Continuing and Emergent Observations and Sampling (RFP-III) was June 17, 2011. Yesterday, June 30, the GRI announced the 17 awarded grants that will support the time-sensitive research occurring in the Gulf of Mexico. The GRI Request for Proposals: Selection of Research Consortia (RFP-I) submissions are due by 9:00 p.m. EDT on July 11, 2011. The purpose of RFP-I is to select the research activities for GRI Years 2–4 (June 1, 2011– May 31, 2014) involving Research Consortia (for this solicitation, a Research Consortium is defined as having four or more institutions). Funding announcements are anticipated to occur on August 30, 2011.
