The 14th Annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl Finals is occurring this weekend in Galveston, Texas at Texas A&M University, Galveston from April 29 – May 1, 2011. The theme of this year’s Finals competition is “Human Responses to Ocean Events.”
The following teams will be attending the competition:
- Aloha Bowl – Punahou School
- Bay Scallop Bowl – Mount Sinai High School
- Blue Crab Bowl – Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School
- Blue Heron Bowl – North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics
- Blue Lobster Bowl – Lexington High School
- Chesapeake Bay Bowl – State College
- Dolphin Challenge – Langham Creek High School
- Great Lakes Bowl – Dexter High School
- Grunion Bowl – La Jolla High School
- Hurricane Bowl – Long Beach High School
- Lake Sturgeon Bowl – Marshfield High School
- Los Angeles Surf Bowl – Santa Monica High School
- Manatee Bowl – Westwood High School
- Nor’easter Bowl – Contoocook Valley Regional High School
- Orca Bowl – Friday Harbor High School
- Penguin Bowl – Gilmour High School
- Quahog Bowl – Cranston High School West
- Salmon Bowl – Neah-Kah-Nie High School
- Sea Lion Bowl – Mission San Jose High School
- Shore Bowl – Marine Academy of Science and Technology
- Southern Stingray Bowl – Irmo High School
- Spoonbill Bowl – Eastside High School
- Trout Bowl – Poudre High School
- Tsunami Bowl – Juneau-Douglas/Thunder Mountain High School
Along with the competition, these teams will participate in interactive field trips, an engaging career event and a new pilot Policy Briefing component designed to improve their critical thinking and cooperative learning skills.
