Program Update: National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP & ORAP) – September 2011

The National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP) Office hosted an exhibit booth at the MTS/IEEE Oceans ’11 meeting, September 19-22, 2011, in Kona, Hawaii. An overview of the program was presented during a workshop entitled “Partnerships Across the Pacific: Ocean Technology Collaborations with Government, Academia, and Industry.” Many potential, future partnerships were discussed.
The following meetings will take place during the month of October:
- October 14: Interagency Working Group on Ocean Partnerships, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
- October 20: IWG-OP Biodiversity Ad Hoc Group, 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The ORAP’s next meeting will be November 9-10, 2011 in Washington, D.C. Meeting topics include: updates from the ORAP sub-panels and the National Ocean Council, briefings on geoengineering and ocean observing, and discussion of future topics for consideration.
