Here in Washington, we are in the midst of those few weeks of summer where things are relatively quiet (and very hot).  The attentions of Congress and the administration are clearly focused on the election.  So, I have been able to focus on normal program activities that have been on the side burner.  I have actually had some time to think!  In addition, Ocean Leadership’s programs are actively gearing up for a busy fall of conferences and events.  I have been encouraging our people to take vacation because the onslaught of September will be here before we know it!  I hope you consider that advice as well and enjoy the last month of summer.
