Program Update: Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative – October 2012
The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI), along with federal partners, will hold a Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference on January 21-23 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Admiral Thad Allen will provide the keynote address and five plenary panelists have been invited to open the conference with an update on status of research to date and close the conference with visions for the future. Several student travel awards have been awarded, and student awards for outstanding research presentation and poster will be awarded at the conference. For more information, click here.
GoMRI would like to congratulation Dr. Nancy Rabalais, LUMCON Consortium Director, who has been awarded a 2012 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. What an honor!
