Heather came to CORE in 2006 from the Audubon Naturalist Society, where she assisted with the coordination of outdoor education programs for all ages. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Hood College in 2005, where she concentrated in policy studies and Spanish and was involved in tropical forestry research in Central America. As an undergraduate, Heather completed internships with the Sierra Club, The New Forest Society, the Lancaster County Environmental Center and worked as a congressional intern within the U.S. House of Representatives.
At Ocean Leadership, Heather works primarily with the Census of Marine Life International Secretariat. In this capacity, she assists with the coordination of CoML’s international Scientific Steering Committee and supports its 17 global projects. In the past, she has also supported the U.S. National Committee of the Census of Marine Life and the National Oceanographic Partnership Program, particularly the Interagency Working Group on Ocean Partnerships and the Ocean Resources and Research Advisory Panel.
