Two presentations remain in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl’s® (NOSB) Professional Development Webinar Series (PDWS).
During the month of October, the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) held its annual Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs), bringing together marine science professionals and educators to review and edit the questions for the upcoming NOSB regional and national competitions.
The National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) National Office hosted the Regional Coordinators Meeting from September 10-12, 2012 at the School of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
In August, the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) welcomed a new Director, Kristen Yarincik. Yarincik has worked at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership since 2001, where she has managed large science programs, including the Census of Marine Life and the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative.
In July, the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) announced the five recipients of the 2012 National Ocean Scholar scholarships.
The second issue of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) bi-annual newsletter, The Ocean Gyre, was released in June.
The National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) National Office spent May reorganizing after a very busy April. Question writers have been hired to develop the questions for 2013.
