Patricia Cleary

Dr. Patricia Cleary is an assistant professor in the Geosciences Department at University of Wisconsin-Parkside. In addition to teaching courses on the history of the earth, climate change and atmospheric science in the Geosciences department, she teaches two courses that are capstone courses for teacher education students in the Liberal Arts major (K-8 education).
Patricia has worked with other faculty in science, engineering and mathematics across the University of Wisconsin System on developing courses, which include civic engagement as a component, the curriculum. She obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley in 2003. Her thesis focused on studies of the photochemistry of nitrogen oxides in pollution episodes near Sacramento, California.
She worked as a postdoctorate researcher at the University of Leeds and the University of Pennsylvania investigating chemical kinetics and dynamics of atmospherically relevant processes. Patricia currently studies lake effects on regional air quality.
