Question writers play a very important role in the NOSB because they provide over 3,000 questions used in the competition.  A competition includes 2 rapid fire rounds of multiple choice or short answer questions and 2 critical thinking team challenge questions (TCQs).

The questions are drawn from the scientific and technical disciplines used in studying the oceans.  Categories include: Physical Oceanography, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Geography, Marine Policy, Technology, and the Social Sciences.

Question writers have already been selected for the 2010 competitions.  If chosen to be a question writer, a stipend will be provided only for accepted questions.  If you are interested in question writing for future NOSB competitions please contact Allison Byrd at abyrd [at] oceanleadership [dot] org.
