Rogerio works as a steward aboard the JOIDES Resolution. You may not see him at work because he is busy making beds, and taking care of the cabins and laundry while others are working elsewhere. However, his work is quite evident when you returns to your cabin to find it clean, with the bed nicely made and your laundry clean, dry, and neatly folded.

Rogerio has worked on the JOIDES Resolution for two years. He learned about the job from a friend who also works on the ship. At first, Rogerio found working on the ship challenging, as he had to adjust to sailing in bad weather. However, he soon became accustomed to sailing and found that his job provided a good salary for him and his family.

Rogerio is from Portugal, where he lives when he is not working on the ship. He has a wife and two sons, ages 10 and 20. When Rogerio is not working on the JOIDES Resolution he is in Portugal with his family and working in the construction industry.

Rogerio’s job plays an important role in the functioning of the ship, its well-being, and the success of its scientific mission.
