Heather came to CORE in 2006 from the Audubon Naturalist Society, where she assisted with the coordination of outdoor education programs for all ages. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Hood College in 2005, where she concentrated in policy studies and was involved in tropical forestry research in Central America. As an undergraduate, Heather completed internships with the Sierra Club, The New Forest Society, the Lancaster County Environmental Center and worked as a congressional intern within the U.S. House of Representatives.

At Ocean Leadership, Heather works with three separate programs. She assists with the National Oceanographic Partnership Program, supporting the Interagency Working Group on Ocean Partnerships and the Ocean Resources and Research Advisory Panel, among other tasks. She also works with both the U.S. National Committee of the Census of Marine Life and the International Secretariat of the Census of Marine Life, where she produces a quarterly newsletter and helps to organize the various sub-panels, meetings, workshops and any products or ideas that result from them.
