The Consortium for Ocean Leadership has been conducting planning activities for the Ocean Observatories Initiative, identified by the National Science Board as a Major Research Equipment and Facilities Construction (MREFC) project, since 2004 under a Cooperative Agreement with NSF’s Ocean Sciences Division. The Program Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) will advise the Consortium for Ocean Leadership and its Implementing Organizations during planning for and construction of the OOI facility in accordance with the Terms of the Cooperative Agreement.

The PAC held its first meeting Sept. 11-12 in Dallas, TX.
