2011 – Senate Oceans Caucus Inaugural Reception
Please join us to celebrate the inauguration of the Senate Oceans Caucus. Covering two thirds of the earth’s surface, the ocean not only provides the air we breathe and the water we drink, it has significant implications for the nation’s economy and provides jobs in many sectors, including tourism, fishing, ports and shipping, marine transportation, resource extraction, and scientific research as well. This newly founded Senate Oceans Caucus is an important, bi-partisan group that will increase awareness and find common ground in responding to issues facing the oceans. The Caucus membership will work to ensure a sustainable, science-based, and efficient approach to the utilization of our ocean resources.

| Ocean Champions is the only ocean group to endorse and support pro- ocean candidates for the U.S. Congress, working to elect good ocean advocates and beat anti-ocean politicians. Since 2004 we’ve helped elect dozens of champions from both sides of the aisle, winning 80% of the time. There are currently 30 Ocean Champions’ endorsed members serving in Congress. |
