Energy & Mineral Resources
Energy and mineral exploration, development and production on federal offshore lands have made significant impacts on our ocean and coastal resources. Environmental, economic and security interests have raised concerns and expanded opportunities for the development of offshore energy. While offshore areas currently contribute little to the nation’s supply of renewable energy, the potential is significant including wind, wave, tides, current and thermal energy conversion.
