On this Expedition:
On this expedition, we conduct a marine mammal watch. Although this is primarily a geophysics and geochemistry scientific expedition, our work is an integral part of the research due to the use of seismic air instruments. We monitor the area around the ship and will stop the use of the seismic gear if a marine mammal approaches the ship during seismics. We stand a 24 hour watch and during long survey runs, the geophysicists assist with observations. As a part of the cruise, we record all marine life, including mammals, all types of birds and observed fish.

About myself:
Over the last several years I have had the amazing opportunity to participate in many oceanographic projects that have allowed me to experience places and seas throughout the world. I look forward to learning and seeing as much as I can.
For Students:
The majority of our "Blue Planet's" surface is covered by water and less than one percent of the ocean bottom has been explored by humans. This is still a lot left for science to study.
