On this Expedition:
On the RV Roger Revelle the Ordinary Seamen have several tasks which usually grow during the passage! We work to maintain the ship and work with the bosun on the upkeep required to keep the Revelle in top condition at sea. This could include painting, reworking mechanical equipment, stowing gear or operating the incinerator for disposing of waste. Once a person holds a Z-card, they can work on any ship, any waters.
I have been to some cool places, even to the Antarctic, where I happened to star in an important video, posing on board next to a major iceberg. It was awesome!
In the article on Becoming a Captain, you can find out how to navigate all the different careers on a ship. Becoming and Ordinary Seaman is a great way to experience the sea and ships.
Look, It's my birthday! And yes, everyone wears THE HAT!

And on our ship, everyone gets a birthday cake baked on their birthday.
